Frequently Asked Questions

What are the requirements for enrolling my child?
PMCS accepts children who are between 3 - 6 years old (first grade) and toilet-trained. Primary students must be enrolled for the number of days which corresponds to their age (3 year olds must be enrolled for at least three days, etc.).

How are food allergies addressed?
We follow VA Dept of Social Services guidelines in addressing and accommodating allergy restrictions.

Do you provide lunch?
No. Children who stay for lunch must bring their own lunch.

Do you provide snacks?
Normally, yes, a snack is available in the morning. Parents provide a week's worth of snacks for the entire class on a rotating basis. During COVID restrictions, students will bring their own snacks.

How does the school inform parents of their child's progress?
Regular communication with parents, including a weekly e-newsletter, parent-teacher conferences, and an open communication policy. Parents are welcome to observe their child's class any time.

Is parental involvement encouraged?
Yes. Parents are the child's primary educator and the teachers at PMCS know that parental involvement is a critical to your child's success. Parents are invited to volunteer in the classroom, for field-trips, for school events, etc.

What is the enrollment process?
If you'd like to enroll your child at PMCS, you can complete an application at any time.

Either before or after this step, you will have a conversation with the Administrator. This is an opportunity for us to get to know you and to decide if this program is going to be a good fit for you.

If you're interested, you can schedule a tour of the facility (currently virtual-only).
